Extracting Vital Signs

Vital signs are extracted by scanning multiple points around the upper cheek region. The results are then analysed using computer vision algorithms, signal processing and deep learning technologies. Users have access to Heart Rate, Heart Rate Variability, Oxygen Saturation, Respiration Rate, and Mental Stress after 60-90 seconds. Identifiable features are not required, and the subject may wear glasses, a beard, hat, make-up, or a mask.

Non-contact Video-based rPPG

Celph.ai uses Remote Photoplethysmographic imaging (rPPG) in order to capture the data. This camera-based system allows for non-contact cardiovascular monitoring. rPPG has been proven to be as accurate as traditional PPG devices.
This technology measures changes in red, green, and blue light scattered from the skin, which can be used to quantify the contrast between specular and diffuse reflection.

Contact-based PPG

With Celph.ai even when the conditions are not ideal, the user retains a PPG signal by placing their fingers on the back camera of a smartphone. If conditions for the rPPG-contact-free extraction are not optimal, users are recommended to use the finger based extraction.
